Mideclone

The mideclone is a high efficiency cyclone system that uses centrifugal force to separate particles from the airstream, often serving as a pre-cleaner in dust collection systems to protect baghouses and scrubbers from coarse particles.

The Mideclones use a centrifugal action to separate particles from an airstream.

Using advanced flow modelling, Mideclones are often part of a dust collection system upstream from baghouses. Typically, they act as pre-cleaners to remove extremely high dust loads including coarse particles that could damage fabric collector bags. Mideco offers 19 different sizes of Mideclones to suit various operational scales and project needs.

How the Mideclone works

Our Mideclone derived its name from a cyclone as it occurs naturally in nature– which gives us an idea of the way it works.

Think of it as a dust extractor with cyclone technology.

The Mideclone works by forcing the incoming airstream to spin in a vortex. As the airstream is forced to change direction, the inactivity of the particles causes them to continue moving in the original direction and separate from the airstream.

In short: In our Mideclone, there are two vortices that are active simultaneously. The main vortex spirals downward and carries the coarser particles, while an inner vortex created near the bottom of the cyclone spirals upward and carries finer dust particles. This provides extremely effective dust particle separation.
