Venturi Scrubbers
Our Venturi Scrubbers are simple but highly effective, with minimum moving parts and wear points. Their efficiency vs energy consumption balance can be optimised using the adjustable venturi throat damper.
The simple, low maintenance design makes the Venturi Scrubbers highly suitable for extremely arduous and remote installations.
We’ve designed these scrubbers with no wearing parts, to minimise the need for repairs and spare part replacement
How do Venturi Scrubbers work?
The wet way uses the difference between high velocity gases and free-flowing water to create droplets which entrap contaminants, hold them in suspension and deliver them as a highly concentrated slurry.
The Venturi Scrubbers do their job way better in separating and recovering liquid mists and ultra-fine particles than other gas cleaning methods. They clean and absorb pollutants present in processed gas streams. Venturi Scrubbers also make it possible to reclaim valuable materials, which can result in significant process savings.
Venturi Scrubbers use energy in the process gas stream itself to make the scrubbing liquid perform. The gas is accelerated to a high velocity at the scrubber’s throat, where it comes into contact with the scrubbing liquid. The liquid is atomised into a mass of fine droplets which entrap the particles and absorb gaseous pollutants with high collection efficiency.
Without going into too much detail, you can rest assured that an investment in a Venturi Scrubber means effective gas cleaning and energy efficiency that lowers costs and downtime.
Peabody Plate Scrubbers
Our Peabody Plate Scrubbers are highly effective dust collectors with minimum pressure drop to keep energy consumption as low as possible.
The overall efficiency can be tailored to the application by increasing the number of stages in the scrubbing process.
The water spray systems consist of removable lances that allow the jets to be cleaned without entering the vessel. This makes maintenance both easier and safer.
How do Peabody Plate Scrubbers work?
Our Peabody Plate Scrubbers operate with very low power requirements which leads to efficient gas cleaning and cooling with reduced operating costs.
The plate scrubber is actually two scrubbers in one. The spray section cools and humidifies entering gas while simultaneously removing larger particulate matter.
In addition, the under-plate spray action keeps the plates and walls clean preventing any build up.
Scrubbing is done by the jet action of the gas in the liquid, produced by the uniquely designed impingement plate. This turbulent effect assures thorough wetting of the particles.
As the gas travels through the scrubber, it passes up through the openings in the perforated plates which hold a bed of water.
The secret to our scrubber design is that it incorporates an impingement baffle above each individual hole.
